If only you really knew . . .
What if . . .
What if you knew . . .
What if you really knew . . .
What if you really, really knew . . .
. . . the power of the seed.
Within any seed is an UNFATHOMABLE amount of future seeds. So much in fact that it cannot be counted nor even really comprehended. I mean, imagine the person who planted the very first apple. Would they have any idea how many apples would come from that single seed?! Wild guess, probably not!
We are all sowers of seed. Every single one of us. Whether or not we know it, understand it, or realise it, every person on this planet sows seed every single day . . . including you. Seed? Like what?
Time
Money
Words
Attitude
Health choices
Forgiveness
Work - laziness or otherwise
Everyone sows seed.
Here’s an example:
Bob gets paid every Tuesday night. On Wednesday, he goes and buys a big feed from the bakery for lunch and then hits KFC for dinner. Thursday, same buzz except for a different place for dinner. He heads to the supermarket for the weekly shop and sneaks across to Maccas after that as it’s just across the road. He continues on his week with much of the same, lessening the number of times he hits the takeaways as his funds get lower and lower . . . until the next payday . . . and then guess what? Rinse and repeat.
A memory pops up on his Facebook feed and he sees a photo of himself 2 years ago. He gets a bit of a shock as he realises that he was pretty slim back then . . . well, compared to now anyway . . . and now, well, things are a bit different . . .
What seed has Bob been sowing? Money seed, Time seed, Health seed, just to name a few.
Has Bob been sowing seed well or badly? Stab in the dark . . . bad? Yep.
Are you Bob?
Should it be a surprise to see where things are at for Bob? No, not really. Why not?
Well, the Bible puts it this way in Galatians 3 -paraphrased by yours truly:
Don’t be shocked mate, put away the shocked face - it’s a simple rule that God Himself ensures happens every single time: You will reap what you sow.
My encouragement to you is that we must be
Intentional sowers
What does this mean?
Choosing to spend and sow our time, money, decisions, and life wisely and with intent, knowing full well that we will reap a harvest (MORE of what you sowed).
By way of testimony, my wife and I have ALWAYS given 10% of our income to the Lord. At various times, we have sowed more than that, sometimes by huge amounts. I can say, hand on heart, that the Lord has faithfully blessed us financially, significantly MORE than that which we originally sowed. Should it be surprising or shocking? Nope. We know the power of the seed. We know the power of sowing.
If you want an upgrade in friends, be more friendly to everyone you meet. You will reap what you sow.
Do you want to be healthier and have more energy? Drink energy drinks. Nah, jokes! Change your eating habits and start being more active. You don’t have to run a mile straight away - just start sowing seeds of being more active than you were yesterday. You will reap what you sow.
Want to enjoy more peace in your relationships with others? Start sowing forgiveness and grace to everyone around you, including those who may have hurt you in the past. You will reap what you sow.
Feeling like you are always running out of time? Start sowing seeds of organisation and intentionality with your time by engaging a focused calendar. In fact, we will be running a “Max out your time” challenge next month. You will reap what you sow.
Want to get out of the rut and start living and laughing again? If you’re a lady get your ticket to the “Revamp your life Women’s conference” here! Or if you’re a man, get your lady a ticket and I promise you that you will have a wonder-woman back in your house again! You will reap what you sow.
Now for those that are humming and haa-ing about sowing the seed - like for the conference above - trust me, the value of the seed in your hand will pale in value compared to the harvest you receive. That’s the law of the King Himself - you will reap what you sow and your harvest will greatly exceed the amount of seed sown every single time.
Here’s a key question - what do you want to harvest? That is, what do you want to see more of in your life? Start sowing that seed.
Harvesters are sowers. Sowers are harvesters. Rinse and repeat.
Be an intentional sower - and you will reap an abundant, purposeful, wanted harvest.
If you’re not, you will reap weeds and plenty of them . . . and don’t be surprised or blame anyone . . .
Action points:
What areas of your life do you want to see an increase or improvement in?
Have you been purposefully sowing into that area or just hoping?
Start sowing. The sooner you sow, the sooner you harvest. Straight up.
Be an intentional sower . . . and have a wonderful week whanau . . . on purpose.
