Wouldn’t you rather be free?

What a powerful day we had on Sunday as we covered this thought - wouldn’t you rather be free?

Consider the following images . . .

Do any of these resonate with you at all? I feel like I’ve been in many of these situations at various times of my life . . . and that’s not living.

One of the greatest triggers for feeling or living like this is

UNFORGIVENESS

Unforgiveness is like a virus or germ that slowly eats away, consumes and takes over what was once a bright, alive, and life-giving organism.

Unforgiveness is dangerous, consuming, and absolutely life-threatening.

By way of summary,

Unforgiveness…

  • Treats the sacrifice of Jesus with absolute contempt

  • Ensures that you will not be forgiven when your time comes - and it will . . .

  • Develops into bitterness and dis-ease

  • Provides the devil with a clear entry point into your life

  • Hinders your prayers

  • Affects your character, being and self

On the other hand - and trust me, the grass is absolutely greener on the 'forgiveness side’ - forgiveness offers the following . . .

Forgiveness…

  • Glorifies God and all that He has done in changing us

  • Guarantees your forgiveness

  • Sets you free

  • Sets the other person free

  • Heals your body, sould, heart and mind

  • Ensures that your prayers are effective

  • Opens doors for you to move to the next level of your life

  • Humbles you out

  • Makes you more like Him

Forgiveness is AWESOME!!!!!

It’s an AMAZING way to live!!!

When I forgive, I experience freedom!!!!

Don’t hold onto unforgiveness. It robs you of your future! Don’t let it! Why let the hurts, pains, mistakes, wrongs and cruelty of others hold you a prisoner of unforgiveness. You are called to be free!

This does not make what the other person did, right. Not at all. But it sets you free and makes you right before Him. And that matters.

If you have people you need to forgive, we encourage you to utilise the following in releasing forgiveness and in doing do, releasing yourself to really live . . . as He intended you to do.

Today, I forgive ______ for not honouring me.

I forgive them for . . .

I release ______ from my judgement and say that they owe me nothing.

I ask Lord that You would bless them.

I ask You Holy Spirit that You will fill this place in my heart.

Thank You Father that You showed me how to forgive - even on the cross you did that. I do the same today.
