Take action
I think we have all encountered people who were all talk . . . loved to talk about what they know but don’t necessarily do it! Yet how often are we ‘that guy’ . . .
The Apostle James tells us that faith without action is dead, useless, a waste of time and space. May we not be those people! Instead of just being hearers of the Word, let us also be do-ers of the Word. That is faith in action.
This year we are called to walk into the doors of promise that God has for us. That requires two key things:
Hearing His voice
Doing what He says
When one reads over the amazing blessings in Deuteronomy 28, one cannot help but be excited and smile - the blessings are amazing and who wouldn’t want those! But there is a catch as such - it is right in the beginning of that chapter - we must OBEY all that He says and commands.
Obedience is a verb, an action word. It requires action. Or, put another way,
FAITH DEMANDS ACTION
When we are obedient to what He calls us to, we will experience amazing blessing. This I know.
The opposite also applies.
Consider Saul, the first king of Israel. He was commanded to destroy the enemy but instead decided to keep the best of the spoil . . . and then made an audacious excuse, “…to sacrifice to the Lord” (1 Samuel 15). Because of his disobedience, the kingdom and the generational blessing that came with that was ripped away from Saul.
It is vital that we are obedient to the Lord and take action when He calls.
The consequences for disobedience are REAL.
The blessings for obedience are EXTENSIVE
I’m pretty sure that if you are reading this that you are one who hears from the Lord.
Now my strong encouragement to you today is to take action . . . TODAY.
