Locked and loaded

I had a specific word given to me last week from the Lord, one that I share here today:

Get trigger happy

One of the greatest weapons we have at our disposal as children of the King is His Word. It is a sWord and one that we need to brandish and use against the enemy and his pathetic attacks.

We are to speak His Word - speak it and declare it - with authority and in faith. When we do, we literally activate His Word here on Earth as it is in Heaven.

It is vital that we, as soldiers of the King, know how to use our weapons and are effective with the weapons we have. With the Lord’s Word at our disposal, we are not short on ammo. Oh no, no, no - we are LOADED with ammunition to use against the devil.

Therefore, it is vital that we know how to use His Word effectively and that we are ready to load up and unleash on the enemy when and where needed.

Imagine a soldier under attack and fumbling around, trying to find their ammunition and then struggling to load it in to the rifle. Sorry mate - too slow, too cumbersome, game over.

On the contrary, imagine an elite soldier who finds him or herself under fire, grabs their weapon, knows it’s already loaded and unleashes on the enemy attack. When attack comes from another direction or in another form, the elite soldier is able to load up with different weaponry and ammunition as needed and, not only return fire, but defeat the enemy at hand.

That’s how we should be with the Word of God.

Hosea 4:6 says that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Given that knowledge comes from God’s mouth it would more than reason to know that true, effective knowledge is God’s Word.

If we know His Word well, we will be able to effectively smoke the enemy by declaring God’s scriptures in authority and faith, as elite soldiers of the King.

Our challenge and encouragement to the church is to know God’s Word.

Be effective in meditating on and knowing His Word so that we are armed and dangerous with His Word.

As a church we are committed to reading the Bible in its entirety this year. We don’t want to be caught out. We want to be effective and ready. In doing so, we will smoke the enemy, stir our faith and activate our future.

Action point:

  1. Decide to read the Bible in its entirety this year

  2. Get a Bible reading plan

    OR

  3. Circle each chapter and book at you complete it

And let’s get to work!
